Finance Graduate Programme

Duration: 18 months

Applications for the finance graduate programme for 2010 opened 27 April 09 and close 7 June 09.

On entry to the programme you will be assigned to a business group and then complete three, six-month rotational placements across Auckland City Council’s Finance divisions. Placements will be agreed based on your interests, development requirements and to maximise potential learning opportunities.


Business Groups

Business Performance

Business Performance seeks to improve the quality and coordination of financial support delivered to Auckland City Council’s five divisions. It delivers commercially-focused services to allow business groups to make informed business decisions that align with the council's strategic direction for the city. It also identifies opportunities to simplify business processes and develop financial awareness within the organisation. More information

Corporate Finance and Planning

Corporate Finance and Planning prepares Auckland City Council's long-term financial plans and reports including annual reports. It also works to improve financial planning and reporting processes and ensures the organisation's legislative financial requirements are met. More information

Risk and Assurance

Risk and Assurance helps people identify risk and manage it. As champions for risk management and internal control, our activities focus on assisting Auckland City Council to raise the bar in these areas.

Our purpose is to undertake independent objective reviews of various council activities to provide assurance to the council, the chief executive and senior management.

Data Services

Data Services provides Auckland City Council groups with a range of shared financial transaction services, including maintaining and analysing textual and spatial data on all land in Auckland city, rating and commercial valuation services and procurement advice. More information

Treasury

Treasury provides financial and economic strategy, policy and planning advice. It also has a role to manage Auckland City Council's financial assets and liabilities for input into leadership, stewardship and support functions. More information
